Last night’s Survivor Series ended with the return of CM Punk. The former AEW star has signed a multi-year deal with WWE.
At the Survivor Series post-show press conference, Triple H stated that no matter what reaction Punk gets, he is always in the conversation. WWE Chief Content Officer welcomed Punk to WWE and said that’s where he belongs.
Last September, Nick Khan appeared in an interview and said this about Punk. “We only have respect for Phil. We appreciate his run here [WWE]. We appreciate what he did and tried to do with the UFC.”
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reported that Vince McMahon wasn’t involved in bringing back CM Punk. Meltzer added that WWE President Nick Khan made the final call. He further stated that Triple H was also heavily involved in the process.
“It was a Nick Khan call in the end. Vince had nothing to do with it. Paul Levesque obviously had a lot to do with it, and those were the two guys who were the point guys.”
