Oscar De La Hoya Issues Statement After Ryan Garcia's Racist Remarks

On Thursday, Ryan Garcia made racist and Islamophobic rants on social media platform X. Garcia was then expelled from the World Boxing Council.

Today, Ryan Garcia issued a public apology on Instagram. The former WBC Interim Lightweight Champion stated that he supports black communities and loves Muslim people.

Oscar De La Hoya, Ryan Garcia’s promoter, stated that he strongly condemns Garcia’s words.

“There is no room for hate or intolerance at my company. Period. I condemn Ryan’s words in the strongest terms possible. We hope Ryan will use the time he has away from the sport to work through the issues he has publicly discussed. We stand ready to help in whatever we can.”
