In 2022, John Laurinaitis and Vince McMahon were accused of misconduct. Laurinaitis then stepped down from his role as Head of Talent Relations in June of that year. Two months later, he was fired from the company.
On January 25th, Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against WWE, McMahon, and Laurinaitis. McMahon denied the allegations and stated, “I intend to vigorously defend myself against these baseless accusations, and look forward to clearing my name.”
Edward M. Brennan, the attorney for John Laurinaitis, issued a statement to VICE News.
“Mr. Laurinaitis denies the allegations in the misguided complaint and will be vigorously defending these charges in Court, not the media. Like the Plaintiff, Mr. Laurinaitis is a victim in this case, not a predator. The truth will come out.”
Edward Brennan was asked if Laurinaitis was indeed saying McMahon was the predator in this case. Brennan stated the following:
“Read the allegations. Read the Federal Statute. Power, control, employment supervisory capacity, dictatorial sexual demands with repercussions if not met. Count how many times in the complaint Vince [McMahon] exerts control over both of them.”
Recently, Nikki and Brie Garcia, the stepdaughters of John Laurinaitis, issued a statement regarding the allegations. You can read more by clicking here.
