Last week, CM Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series premium live event. Punk had numerous backstage incidents during his time in All Elite Wrestling. However, he was welcomed with open arms by many in WWE.
CM Punk is a controversial star in the world of pro wrestling, but many people have good relationships with him, including his former boss, Dana White.
In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, UFC CEO Dana White discussed CM Punk’s WWE return. White stated that he congratulated Punk after his shocking return.
“I texted him that night after he walked out in Chicago, It was amazing. I texted and congratulated him, it was incredible.”
Dana White stated that Punk is one of the easiest people he dealt with.
“I’ve had nothing but a great relationship with him since the day we met. He’s a super nice guy. He’s one of the easiest people I’ve ever dealt with.”
Dana White stated that CM Punk had two tough fights. White also stated that Punk earned everyone’s respect in his training camp.
“Look, those were tough fights, You know what else is important? Everybody that he trained with and everybody around him in his camp respected him. That spoke volumes.”
In 2016, CM Punk made his UFC debut against Mickey Gall at UFC 203. Punk lost the bout but received $1,042,736 for the fight. Punk’s second and final fight took place against Mike Jackson at UFC 225. He lost the fight via unanimous decision. However, the decision was overturned to a no contest due to Mike being tested positive for marijuana.
