This past Saturday’s AEW Collision took place at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut. The ladder match between Andrade El Idolo and Buddy Matthews kicked off the show. Julia Hart tried to prevent Andrade from winning the match. However, Andrade threw her off the ladder toward Mathews. Both landed on the table. Andrade took the mask that hung above the ring to win the bout.
Darby Allin defeated Minoru Suzuki in a singles match.
Samoa Joe defeated Gravity after hitting a Muscle Buster.
Tony Schiavone interviewed CM Punk in the ring. Punk brought his AEW World Championship and sprayed an “X” sign on it. Ricky Stark then came to the ring and demanded a title match. Punk agreed to give Stark a title match this Saturday. Schiavone said that Ricky Steamboat will serve as the special guest referee for the bout.
The Bullet Club Gold defeated El Hijo Del Vikingo, Darius Martin, & Action Andretti in a Six-Man Tag Team match.
Mercedes Martinez defeated Kiera Hogan. Martinez attacked Kiera after the match. TBS Champion Kris Statlander came to the ring to help Kiera. However, Martinez hit Statlander with the Championship.
In the main event, FTR defeated MJF & Adam Cole to retain the AEW Tag Team Titles.
According to Nielsen via Wrestlenomics, the July 29th episode of AEW Collision drew 739,000 viewers on TNT and a 0.27 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
The previous episode (July 22) drew 618,000 viewers on TNT and a 0.18 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
