This past Saturday’s AEW Collision took place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Ricky Starks kicked off the show to celebrate Owen Hart Foundation Tournament win. Tony Scivaony interviewed Starks and asked about the controversial way that he won the tournament. Starks said that anyone would do the same thing to win the tournament.
CM Punk interrupted Ricky Starks and said that he doesn’t mad at Starks. Punk then asked Starks how he can live with the win knowing that he can’t beat him without cheating. Punk then said that he’s the real AEW World Champion. Christian Cage & Luchasaurus interrupted Punk & Starks and questioned “What kind of a man carries around a championship he didn’t win.” Darby Allin then came to the ring to set up the main event.
The Bullet Club Gold defeated Darius Martin & Action Andretti in a Tag Team match. Jay White delivered a Blade Runner on Andretti to pick up the victory.
Miro defeated Nick Comoroto via Camel Clutch.
The House of Black defeated Billy Gunn and Acclaimed to retain the AEW Trios Championships. Malakai Black whispered something to Billy Gunn after the match. Gunn then removed his boots and left the ring.
Taya Valkyrie defeated Skye Blue. Valkyrie challenged Britt Baker to a match on AEW Dynamite.
In the main event, Ricky Starks & Christian Cage defeated CM Punk & Darby Allin in a Tag Team match.
According to Nielsen via PWTorch, the July 22nd episode of AEW Collision drew 618,000 viewers on TNT and a 0.18 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
The previous episode (July 15) drew 579,000 viewers on TNT and a 0.20 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
