Update On SmackDown Fan Injury Lawsuit

By The Spotlight StaffJune 11, 2024
Update On SmackDown Fan Injury Lawsuit

Last month, Richard Bryant filed a lawsuit against WWE before the Superior Court of Connecticut, Judicial District of Stamford. Bryant alleged that he suffered several injuries to his right ear because of a pyrotechnic explosion during the July 15th, 2022 episode of SmackDown in Orlando, Florida. The plaintiff is seeking $15,000 for the damages.

WWE recently filed a motion to move the lawsuit to the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. The company is slated to respond to Richard Bryant’s lawsuit this month. PWInsider reported that WWE received an extension from the court and has until July 3 to respond to the lawsuit.

Last year, Marvin Jackson filed a similar suit. However, United States District Judge Mark T. Pittman dismissed the lawsuit with prejudice.
