Last night, Team AEW (Swerve Strickland, Mark Briscoe, Darby Allin, Max Caster and Anthony Bowens faced Team Elite (Kazuchika Okada, Jack Perry, Adam Page, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) in a Blood & Guts match on AEW Dynamite. Team AEW won the match after Matthew said, “We quit” to save Jack Perry.
Jack Perry was handcuffed to the cage, and Mark Briscoe battered him with kendo stick shots. Perry also took an unprotected chair shot to the head from Briscoe.
On X, WWE SmackDown commentator Corey Graves reacted to Perry’s spot. However, Graves has now deleted the post due to backlash from AEW fans.
“This is not meant to sound judgmental, or incite “us vs. them” or question anybody’s passion, or talent or intentions.
This is just coming from a guy whose career ended from a few too many ACCIDENTAL headshots.
The ART of this business is protecting ourselves and each other.
Trust me…the gaps in memory are not worth it. I promise.”
