Update On Kenny Omega After Diverticulitis Diagnosis

Update On Kenny Omega After Diverticulitis Diagnosis

Kenny Omega last appeared on the December 13th episode of AEW Dynamite, where he and Chris Jericho had a segment with Ricky Starks and Big Bill. Omega and Jericho were supposed to compete against Starks and Bill for the AEW World Tag Team Titles at Worlds End. However, the plans had to be altered due to Omega’s illness.

The former AEW World Champion was admitted to the hospital last month, and it was learned that he was diagnosed with diverticulitis.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer noted that Kenny Omega still didn’t undergo surgery. Omega is set to decide whether he will undergo surgery or not within seven weeks.

“Due to the inflammation being so bad he [Kenny Omega] couldn’t have surgery at the time and as of last week still hadn’t had it. The decision will be made in about seven weeks, based on his healing, on whether he’ll need surgery or not, but if he does, that would put him out of action significantly longer.”
