Last week, MJF successfully retained his AEW World Championship by defeating Samoa Joe at the AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam. However, MJF’s “Brochacho” Adam Cole suffered an unfortunate injury in the closing moment of the match.
Adam Cole ran toward the ring and then jumped off the stage. Cole came to the ringside to encourage MJF but he was then seen limping. After AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, The one half of the ROH Tag Champions was taken to the hospital.
Last night on AEW Dynamite, Adam Cole announced that his ankle exploded and would require surgery. Cole was then about to relinquish the ROH Tag Team Titles. However, MJF stopped Cole and said that he would defend the titles against The Righteous in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match at WrestleDream.
Adam Cole’s fiancée, Britt Baker posted an X-ray and stated that Cole had broken his ankle in three places.
“This guy broke his ankle in 3 places on a freak accident. He still hobbled around on live tv because as we like to say “the show must go on”. @AdamColePro gives his entire heart and soul to pro wrestling. He’s one tough cookie and this is just a small bump in the road. He’ll be back better than ever BAYBAY 👊🏻 #AEWDynamite”
