Tracy Cortez Comments After Losing To Rose Namajunas At UFC Denver

UFC Fight Night took place this past Saturday at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. Tracy Cortez (11-2) faced Rose Namajunas (13-6) in a flyweight bout in the main event. Cortez, who stepped into the octagon on short notice, lost to Namajunas via unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 48-47).

In an interview with ESPN, Tracy Cortez commented on her first UFC loss (6-1). Cortez said that she could have done better if she had practiced in full camp.

“I took it on two weeks’ notice, unprepared, and gave it all I had. I know if I were to have a full camp, prepared—I mean, my cardio was there—I think I would’ve done a lot better with a good game plan. I think I proved [to] myself I can go five fives, you know. [I’m] looking forward to the next one.”

Cortez also said that she wants to step back into the octagon once again.

“I want to get right back in there. The last time I [lost], I went on a killer streak and improved myself again. I’m not here to prove the world, I’m here to prove myself.”
