Last February, AEW President Tony Khan exchanged a few tweets with MMA Journalist Ariel Helawani which made huge headlines that month. Khan has become a headline again and this time with an ESPN journalist.

Earlier in April, Tony Khan announced they will hold the All In event on Sunday, August 27th at the Wembley Stadium in London, England. Following the announcement, many questioned AEW’s ability to sell out Wembley Stadium. The capacity of the stadium is 90,000.

As of yesterday, Dave Meltzer reported that 35,000 tickets have been sold in the pre-sale. The tickets will go on sale for the general public this Friday.

An ESPN journalist Mike Coppinger replied to Wrestling Observer’s report and tweeted that the actual scale for All In is 40,000.

“Hearing Wembley is scaled for only 40K for AEW – far cry from last April when I was ringside for Tyson Fury-Dillian Whyte and it was packed to the brim with 94,000. Nothing beats the big-fight feel at Wembley”

Tony Khan noticed Coppinger’s tweet and issued the following statement.

“LIES. What a load of cr*p. Tell your agent Nick Khan to shove it up his a*s”

Khan then issued another tweet.

“Since you carry the credentials of a credible reporter + represent the Worldwide Leader, I’m just curious: who was your source for this, and how can a reporter representing ESPN tweet something about a legit news story that’s so blatantly wrong and easily verified as a falsehood?”
