Last month, The Dyad’s (Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler) release requests were denied by the WWE management. The two NXT stars then issued statements on Twitter and revealed when their contracts expire. You can read more by clicking here.

NXT Battleground is scheduled to take place this Sunday at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts. WWE held the Battleground press conference today and Shawn Michaels answered the media.

During the press conference, Shawn Michaels was asked about Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler requesting their releases. Michaels stated that he believed Reid and Fowler will stay with the company. The WWE Hall of Famer added that he brought them from NXT UK to see their success in WWE.

PWInsider has covered the press conference and noted the following.

“Shawn was also asked about the Grizzled Young Veterans (Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler) requesting a release and not being granted one. He had wanted them to come over from the UK, hoping that everyone could find success in WWE. Regardless of who enters WWE, he wants to assist them in achieving success in the industry as a whole. Shawn understands their sentiments, but he bears no ill feelings and still desires to see them in significant roles. As long as they are willing to work, he is willing to utilize their talents.”

Recently, Dave Meltzer stated that Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler wanted to move back to England.
