Tony Khan founded All Elite Wrestling in 2019 to give more opportunities to wrestlers. Several WWE superstars then joined Khan’s promotion and gained huge success in the company. Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, and Adam Cole are just a name a few.
Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes who was an Executive Vice President of AEW decided to leave the company last year. Rhodes then became the top babyface in WWE. Recently, Brian Pillman Jr. exited AEW after his contract expired. Brian was reportedly spotted training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer stated that several AEW stars are waiting for a call from WWE. Meltzer also noted that one AEW star is willing to sign with WWE.
“WWE is very, very leery because of the MLW lawsuit, so they’re not making… if that MLW lawsuit wasn’t there, WWE – and it’s not just these guys (the Elite), there’s other guys that this relates to, that have interest at least in hearing from WWE and in one case interested in going to WWE – and WWE has been uncharacteristically not aggressively trying to steal talent.”
