Last Saturday, MJF defended his AEW World Championship against Jay White in the main event of Full Gear.
On Zero Hour, MJF was attacked by Bullet Club Gold and was later sent to hospital in an ambulance. Adam Cole came to the ring to defend the title in the main event on behalf of his Brochacho. However, MJF drove himself back to the arena in the ambulance before the bell rang.
The Salt of The Earth competed in the bout with an injured leg. MJF was able to retain his Triple B after hitting Switchblade with Dynamite Diamond Ring.
Wade Keller of PWTorch reported that Jay White wasn’t pleased with his storyline against MJF.
“[Jay] White wasn’t thrilled, based on what I’ve been told, how things went with the build and the match against MJF, so he might be motivated to shine in this tournament [Continental Classic].”
Keller also stated that White is “still among the top choices for Tony Khan to build around as a top-top star in his company for years to come.”
This past Wednesday, Jay White defeated RUSH in the Continental Classic on AEW Dynamite. Switchblade earned three points in the round-robin tournament.
