On Friday, Dana White announced the UFC 307 fight card. Alex Pereira is scheduled to defend his Light Heavyweight Championship against No. 8-ranked Khalil Rountree Jr. in the main event of the show.
Many fans are not thrilled about Rountree Jr. getting a title opportunity instead of Magomed Ankalaev, who is ranked No. 2 in the division. Jamahal Hill stated on X that UFC is making rankings pointless.

Khalil Rountree Jr. last competed on December 9th, 2023, at UFC Fight Night, where he defeated Anthony Smith via TKO in round 3. Rountree Jr. was supposed to fight Hill at UFC 303. He was pulled from the event after being tested positive for PED. Combat Sports Anti-Doping Agency (CSADA) suspended Rountree Jr. for two months, and his suspension ended on July 4th.
Magomed Ankalaev is scheduled to face Aleksandar Rakić at UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
