Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley are feuding since last year. Lesnar always cost Lashley’s title opportunities on multiple occasions. At the men’s Royal Rumble match Lashley took his revenge by eliminating Lesnar.
This past Saturday, Brock Lesnar entered the men’s Royal Rumble match as the #12 entry. The Beast eliminated three competitors in the match and then Bobby Lashley entered the bout as the #13 entry. The Almighty quickly eliminated Brock Lesnar which shocked Lesnar.
Brock Lesnar destroyed announce table with a steel step after being eliminated by Lashley. Lesnar then F-5’ed Baron Corbin and attacked a referee outside the ring. However, he reportedly received a bit of backstage heat over some unplanned spots.
Fightful Select reported that Brock Lesnar was supposed to destroy the things near the ringside area because that was his character. However, during the segment, he threw a piece of the announce table inside the ring and it almost hit Lashley. That wasn’t a planned spot.
In addition to that, Lesnar threw a referee Eddie Orengo over the barricade which was also an unplanned spot and Lesnar got a bit of heat for that. Fightful stated that the referee appears to be suffered a foot injury but is unable to confirm it.
The referee Eddie Orengo was supposed to raise Cody Rhodes’ hand after winning the Royal Rumble match. However, the plan had to change due to Lesnar’s attack.
Fightful Select further noted that Brock Lesnar getting heat over an unplanned spot is a common thing in WWE. “heat is a relative term for Brock Lesnar. He’s not going to get in trouble. He’s certainly not going to be fired like Cryme Tyme was. It’s a new regime, new rules, and I’m not sure anyone involved was mad or not, but some people backstage were.”
