The Intercontinental Champion Gunther and Sheamus kicked off the men’s Royal Rumble Match. The Miz entered the Rumble as the #3 entry. Sheamus and Gunther hit vicious chops on Miz. Johnny Gargano made his return as #5 after weeks of absence from WWE television. Sheamus eliminated Miz with a Brough Kick. It was the first elimination in the 2023 Royal Rumble. Karrion Kross entered the Rumble as #7 and this was his first Rumble Match.
The winner of the 2020 Royal Rumble Drew McIntyre came to the ring as #9. McIntyre eliminated Kross. Xavier Woods was eliminated by Gunther. Brock Lesnar entered the Rumble as #12. Lesnar arch nemeses Lashley came to the ring as #13. Lashley hit spears at everyone in the ring including Lesnar. Bobby Lashley then eliminated Brock Lesnar. Lesnar attacked Corbin before he entered the ring. Lesnar then attacked a referee.
The 2019 Royal Rumble winner Seth Rollins entered the Rumble as the #15 entry. Rollins eliminated Corbin. Rey Mysterio was #17 but he didn’t appear. Seth Rollins eliminated Bobby Lashley. Dominik Mysterio entered as #18 wearing Mysterio’s mask. Sheamus and McIntyre hit a double Brough Kick on Elias. Banger Bros eliminated Elias. Finn Balor and Dominik eliminated Gargano.
The WWE Hall of Famer Booker T entered the Rumble as #21. Gunther eliminated Booker T. Damian Priest entered the ring as the #22 entry.
The WWE Hall of Famer Edge made his return #24 after an absence for four months. He hit spears at every Judgement Day member. Edge eliminated Balor and Priest. However, Balor dragged Edge and eliminated him. Edge attacked Balor and Priest in the ramp. Rhea Ripley then came and attacked Edge. Beth Phoenix then came and battered Ripley.
Braun Strowman entered as #27 and eliminated Omos. Gunther eliminated Sheamus and McIntyre. Logan Paul made his return as #29. Everyone in the ring attacked Logan.
The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes made his return to WWE as #30 after seven months of absence. Cody Rhodes hit a Cross Rhodes on Dominik and eliminated him. Cody then eliminated Strowman. Theory eliminated Ricochet. Theory was eliminated by Cody. The final four were Logan Paul, Gunther, Cody Rhodes, and Seth Rollins. Logan eliminated Rollins. Cody eliminated Logan. Gunther and Cody Rhodes only remained in the ring. Cody then hit a Cody Cutter on Gunther. The IC Champ then hit a powerbomb on Cody. Gunther put a sleeper hold when Cody was outside in the ring apron. The American Nightmare then hit a Cross Rhodes on Gunther and eliminated him.
Cody Rhodes won the 2023 men’s WWE Royal Rumble.
