Last week, Will Ospreay appeared at Full Gear to sign his All Elite Wrestling contract. Ospreay will start his career in Tony Khan’s promotion next year.
WWE also had an interest in Ospreay, but he ultimately decided to join AEW. On the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T said that he hopes AEW will make Ospreay a household name and a legendary figure in the industry.
However, Booker T doubts that will happen. The WWE Hall of Famer said that he watched a minute of the November 8th episode of AEW Dynamite and saw Kota Ibushi riding a bicycle in the Like a Dragon Street Fight. Booker said that he feels sorry if Will Ospreay ever does something like that.
“I just hope they [AEW] make this guy [Will Ospreay] a household name and make him a legendary figure… I just wonder. The reason I say that is because I watched a minute of AEW last week, and it was Kota Ibushi coming down a 10-speed bicycle blinking guys and then getting hit with a clothesline.
If Will Ospreay is going to be doing anything like this, I feel sorry for him. But as far as him getting paid, big ups for Will. But as far as his career and legacy he’s going to leave in AEW, I hope those guys think about it because he is truly one of the best wrestlers in the world.”
