LA Knight is currently receiving a huge ovation from fans. Knight became a top merchandise seller in the month of June due to his popularity.
However, many people criticize LA Knight for imitating The Rock and Steve Austin. Zelina Vega recently stated that Knight should be himself. WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash said that Knight is an absolute rip-off of The Rock.
The Megastar responded to the criticism in numerous interviews. As of now, LA Knight didn’t involve in any storyline, but the company is planning to make him a babyface.
On the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T responded to the criticism about LA Knight. Booker T said that wrestlers always took some aspects of other wrestlers and create their own versions and it’s a common thing in pro wrestling.
“I mean, you could look at it from a couple of different ways, I guess. You could say, ‘Well, he’s ripped a lot of Stone Cold Steve Austin off. He’s got a lot of Rock’s cadence.’ Yeah, I can see that, but I don’t look at that as being a ripoff or anything like that. Because you know, I look at myself for instance, and [I] definitely took a lot of things from a lot of different wrestlers and, and kinda like meshed it into everything that I did, and I called it my own. And I think that’s just what wrestlers do, especially the good ones.”
