The Rock made his return to WWE on the September 15th episode of SmackDown, where he delivered a People’s Elbow to Austin Theory. The Hollywood megastar revealed that he is open for a match at WrestleMania 40. However, fans can see the Great One before April.
On Instagram, The Rock posted several photos of him spending time with a young fan. In the caption, the former WWE champion teased a potential return. Here’s an excerpt from the post.
“I told him a little secret 🤫 that may or may not involve some dude returning to WWE to lay the SmackDown on all their candy a-ses.”
Elimination Chamber PLE is set to take place on Saturday, February 24th, at Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia. The West Australian reported that The Rock could appear at the premium live event.
“The West Australian revealed in September the growing speculation that the 10-time world champion who hasn’t wrestled at a main event for years, could make his return via Perth’s event.”
Rita Saffioti, the Minister of Tourism, told The West Australian that she expected to bring the Great One to the Elimination Chamber.
“It’d be huge having someone like the Rock here in Western Australia. I saw he made a surprise appearance recently at a SmackDown! event, so of course, we’d love to see him in the ring as part of this exclusive event.”
WWE will announce more details regarding the event in the next several weeks. As of now, the company has sold more than 45,000 tickets for the show.
