In March 2021, Andrade El Idolo was granted his release from WWE. He then made his AEW debut on the June 4th, 2021, episode of Dynamite.
Andrade El Idolo competed in the Blue League of the Continental Classic over the past two months but was unable to win the tournament. This past Saturday, Andrade faced Miro at AEW Worlds End. Miro picked up the victory in the bout.
During the AEW Worlds End post-show media scrum, Tony Khan confirmed that Andrade’s contract expired at the end of last month.
On X, the former United States Champion announced his departure from All Elite Wrestling. Andrade mentioned several names in the statement, including the backstage crew, and thanked them for supporting him.

I also want to say goodbye to all the talent, security people, cameramen, referees and everyone who works in the company for being part of my time in AEW. Kenny, Young Bucks, Tazz, Shiavone, Aubrey, Jerry, Hobbs, hook, Kingston, Ricky, Orange, thunder, Jack Perry, Austin, Colten, Sonjay and many more that I can name, also how to forget all the Mexicans (todo el relajo) I enjoyed sharing the ring with STING, PAC, Darby, Garcia, Jay and many more. I would have loved to face MOX, Page, Hobbs, Ricky, Dante, Cage, Dustin. Thank you AEW AND Thank you to all the fans for your support always. I wish you the best always!!!.”
