The Judgment Day was created by WWE Hall of Famer Edge. First, Damian Priest joined the faction at WrestleMania 38. Rhea Ripley then joined Judgment Day at WrestleMania Backlash last year. However, Finn Balor became the leader of the group after kicking out Edge in June of last year. They recruited Dominik Mysterio after Clash at the Castle PLE.
Last month, Damian Priest won the Money in the Bank ladder match. On the same night, Priest teased cash in his contract during the World Heavyweight Championship match. That led to tension between Priest and Balor. Señor Money in the Bank cost Balor’s opportunity to win the World Heavyweight title at SummerSlam.
Meanwhile, Finn Balor developed a friendship with JD McDonagh. On this past Monday Night RAW, Priest said that Balor should have come along with Judgment Day. However, Balor sent a message through McDonagh and told them not to worry about him.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer said that the long-term plan is for Damian Priest to leave the faction. Meltzer speculated that McDonagh may join the Judgment Day.
“While this could easily change, the long-term plan is Priest out of Judgment Day. Whether that means McDonagh is in, that’s a probable but not 100 percent.”
