Gunther vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus in a Triple Threat match for the Intercontinental Championship
Three weeks ago, WWE held a Fatal Five-Way match to determine the #1 contender for the Gunther’s IC title at WrestleMania 39. However, Drew McIntyre and Sheamus both won the match via double pinfall. Therefore, McIntyre and Sheamus competed against each other to earn the IC title opportunity at WrestleMania on the March 17th episode of SmackDown. Gunther interfered in the match and attacked both McIntyre and Sheamus. Later, Adam Pearce announced that Gunther would defend his IC title against Drew McIntyre and Sheamus in a Triple Threat match at WrestleMania 39.
Gunther currently holding the Intercontinental Championship for 294 days. He is the longest reigning IC Champion in the modern era. The 35-year-old star made IC Title special over the past several months.
Gunther has a lot of potential on the main roster. He could be a future main eventer, but he is still not ready. WWE management thinks Gunther should stay in the mid-card level this year. Drew McIntyre and Sheamus have passed their prime. Therefore, both should be put over Ring General. Our Prediction: Gunther retains the Intercontinental Championship.
Women’s WrestleMania Showcase Match: Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez vs. Natalya & Shotzi vs. Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler vs. Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville in a Fatal Four-Way Tag Team Match
Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler were supposed to compete for the Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania. However, plans were changed following Rousey’s arm injury. Rousey and Baszler have a higher chance of winning this bout. Our Prediction: Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler win the match.
Edge vs. Finn Balor inside Hell in a Cell
Edge has been feuding with Judgement for a long time. Everything started when Edge recruited Finn Balor to Judgment Day last May. The WWE Hall of Famer was then kicked out of the faction and Balor became the leader.
Last October, Edge was defeated by Finn Balor in an “I Quit” match at Extreme Rules. Edge then made his return at the Men’s Royal Rumble match to get revenge from Judgement Day. At Elimination Chamber, Edge and his wife Beth Phoenix faced Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley in a Mixed Tag Team match. The Hall of Fame couple won the match but the storyline between Edge and Balor continued.
The WWE Hall of Famer challenged Finn Balor to a Hell in a Cell match at WrestleMania 39 on the March 13th episode of Monday Night RAW. Balor accepted the challenge. The Brood version of Edge and Demon Finn Balor are scheduled to face each other inside Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania.
Typically, Hell in a Cell match is a symbol of ending feuds. Therefore, Edge should come out victorious in the storyline. However, Finn Balor needs a win to rebuild his credibility. Balor’s loss could hurt Judgement Day’s momentum. This year could be Edge’s final year as a competitor. Our Prediction: Finn Balor wins the match.
Brock Lesnar vs. Omos
Last month, MVP said that Omos is challenging Brock Lesnar to a match at WrestleMania 39. Lesnar then accepted the challenge on the February 27th episode of Monday Night RAW.
Brock Lesnar and Omos first met each other two weeks ago on Monday Night RAW, where Omos threw Lesnar over the top rope. This past Monday, Lesnar and Omos involved in a huge brawl during their weigh-in segment.
Some fans criticized this match when it was first announced. Keep in mind, WrestleMania is all about creating iconic moments. Brock Lesnar hitting F5s & Suplexes on Omos would break the internet. However, we think The Beast will put over the 7-foot-3 inches and 400-pound Nigerian giant. Our Prediction: Omos wins the match.
Bianca Belair vs. Asuka for the RAW Women’s Championship
Asuka won the women’s Elimination Chamber match to earn the opportunity to face Bianca Belair for the RAW Women’s Championship at WrestleMania Goes Hollywood.
Last week, Bianca Belair teamed up with Asuka to defeat Piper Niven and Chelsea Green in a tag team match. Following the match, Asuka attacked Belair. However, both women didn’t feature this past Monday Night RAW. This is another women’s match that WWE failed to build up properly for WrestleMania. Our Prediction: Bianca Belair retains the RAW Women’s Championship.
Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship
Last January, Cody Rhodes won the men’s Royal Rumble match and earned an opportunity to face Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 39. Reigns’ special counsel Paul Heyman attempted to discourage Rhodes in the past several weeks.
However, Cody Rhodes slowly interfered in The Bloodline matters in the past few weeks. Rhodes recently reunited Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn which was a first step to destroying Roman Reigns’ Bloodline faction.
Two weeks ago, Cody Rhodes told Roman Reigns that everyone will leave him after Roman lost to Cody at WrestleMania 39. The American Nightmare and The Tribal Chief didn’t physical with each other in the ring which is a good thing.
In the past two months, Cody Rhodes consistently said that he will win the Undisputed WWE Universal Title to make his father the American Dream Dusty Rhodes proud. Roman Reigns already made the Anoa’i family proud. Our Prediction: Cody Rhodes becomes the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
