This past Friday’s SmackDown took place at the Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio. LA Knight kicked off the show and revealed a few participants in the SummerSlam Battle Royal. Knight then faced Sheamus in a singles match. The Megastar delivered a BFT (Blunt Force Trauma) on The Celtic Warrior to win the match.
Ridge Holland & Butch faced Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson in a Tag Team match. However, the bout ended in a disqualification after Street Profit attacked both teams.
Jey Uso told Paul Heyman that he will become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion at SummerSlam. Solo Sikoa then interrupted Jey Uso. Main Event Jey Uso told Sikoa that he will forgive him no matter what happened between them. Sikoa then told Heyman to get out of the ring, and at the same time, Jey hit a Superkick on Sikoa.
Austin Theory defeated Cameron Grimes after hitting an A-Town Down.
Zelina Vega defeated Iyo Sky after hitting a Code Red.
In the main event, Jey Uso defeated Solo Sikoa. After the match, Jey was attacked by Sikoa. Jey then hit multiple chair shots at the Enforcer of The Bloodline.
According to Nielsen via Wrestlenomics, the August 4th episode of WWE SmackDown drew 2.248 million viewers on FOX and a 0.62 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
The previous episode (July 28) drew 2.323 million viewers on FOX and a 0.61 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
