This past Monday’s WWE RAW took place at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California. The show kicked off with the match between Nia Jax and Becky Lynch. Jax defeated Becky with an Annihilator.
Cody Rhodes came to the ring and challenged Shinsuke Nakamura to end the rivalry. Nakamura appeared on the big screen and told Cody to wait one week. Nakamura said that he would finish Cody’s story and close the book forever.
Jey Uso and Kofi Kingston defeated Imperium (Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci) via referee stoppage.
The Miz invited The Judgment Day members to Miz TV. However, they didn’t come. Instead, R-Truth came to the ring and told Miz that he was doing PR work for Judgment Day. Truth said that he’s trying to make Judgment Day likable. Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh came to the ring. They challenged Miz and Truth to a match.
Awesome Truth defeated Dominik Mysterion and JD McDonagh in a Tag Team match.
Rhea Ripley defeated Ivy Nile to retain the Women’s World Championship.
Jinder Mahal made his return to WWE RAW and insulted the United States. The Rock then came to the ring and taught Jinder a lesson. Later, The Great One teased a potential match against Roman Reigns.
Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark defeated Tegan Nox & Natalya in a Tag Team match.
In the main event, Seth Rollins defeated Drew McIntyre to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
According to Nielsen via SpoilerTV, the January 1st episode of WWE RAW drew an average of 1.751 million viewers on USA Network and did a 0.60 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
