Last week, John Cena made his return on Monday Night RAW and accepted Austin Theory’s challenge for the United States Championship at WrestleMania 39. However, WWE previously pitched another opponent for Cena at WrestleMania 39.
Last November, Logan Paul faced Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Crown Jewel PLE. A few days later on his “Impaulsive” podcast, Logan expressed his interest in facing the 16-time world champion at WrestleMania. He even texted Triple H about booking the match. However, John Cena decided that Theory would be a suitable opponent for him.
WrestleVotes reported that WWE planned the match between John Cena and Logan Paul at SummerSlam.
“Logan loved the idea and Cena was totally down it. They’d have made mega money and it’s just a matter of when. They want to tell a good story because they’re megastars, so there’s got to be a reason. The matches is very much on the table, even at a SummerSlam. All parties involved want to do it.”
Logan Paul is scheduled to face Seth Rollins at this year’s Showcase of the Immortals.
