Roman Reigns successfully retained his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship by defeating Cody Rhodes in the main event on night two of WrestleMania 39. The result of the match shocked everyone, and the company received a lot of criticism as well.
The Triable Chief is scheduled to surpass 1000 days as the Universal Champion on Saturday, May 27th at Night of Champions PLE. As of now, Roman Reigns has no strong opponent who can dethrone him. Many fans expect Cody Rhodes will dethrone Reigns at SummerSlam. However, that’s not the case.
WrestleVotes told GiveMeSport that the rematch between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes will take place on Sunday, April 7th at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
“I can say this. The rematch that’s at the forefront of everybody’s minds, Cody vs Roman, is very much on the table to main event in Philadelphia next year.”
Roman Reigns reaches 1316 days as Universal Champion by the time of WrestleMania 40. If that happens, Reigns will become the fourth longest-reigning champion in WWE history, surpassing Bruno Sammartino’s second longest-reign record of 1,237 days.
