Last September, Dominik Mysterio attacked his father Rey Mysterio at Clash at the Castle premium live event. Dominik then aligned with The Judgement Day on RAW and Rey moved to SmackDown. However, Dominik and his “Mami” Rhea Ripley sporadically bothered Rey Mysterio in special events such as Thanksgiving, Halloween, and Valentine’s Day. Those video clips are available on WWE’s social media platforms which gained huge attention.
Dominik Mysterio is currently receiving a big heat from the crowd with his ex-con gimmick. This past Monday on RAW, ex-con Dom told Byron Saxton that he is arriving on tonight’s SmackDown to see his father Rey Mysterio.
Recently, a rumor circulated on social media that Dominik Mysterio is scheduled to face Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 39. On Wrestling Observer Newsletter Dave Meltzer confirmed the rumor and stated that it was the WWE’s plan for Dominik and Rey for months.
“Rey Mysterio vs. Dominik Mysterio. This hasn’t been announced but has been the plan for months to hold off their first singles match to this show”
