This past Tuesday’s WWE NXT kicked off with the NXT Women’s Championship match between Tiffany Stratton and Kiana James. Stratton retained the title with a Moonsault. Becky Lynch appeared on the big screen after the match and challenged Stratton for the NXT Women’s Title next week.
Ilja Dragunov defeated Ora Mensa. After the match, Wes Lee told Dragunov that he would be next in line for the NXT Title. Dragunov said he would be the one getting a title shot. Carmelo Hayes then came to the ring and said that there would be a match between Lee and Dragunov next week. The winner will face Carmelo for the title at No Mercy.
Nathan Frazier defeated Duke Hudson in the Global Heritage Invitational.
Tyler Bate defeated Dabba Kato.
Mustafa Ali defeated Dragon Lee to become the No. 1 contender for the NXT North American Championship. Ali will face Dominik for the title at No Mercy.
The match between Butch and Axiom ended in a Time Limit Draw.
Thea Hail defeated Gigi Dolin with a Kimura Lock.
In the main event, Bron Breakker defeated Von Wagner with a spear. Breakker brutally attacked Wagner after the match.
According to Nielsen via SpoilerTV, the September 5th episode of WWE NXT drew 673,000 viewers on USA Network and a 0.18 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
The previous episode (August 29) drew 614,000 viewers on USA Network a 0.16 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
