This past Tuesday’s WWE NXT kicked off with the Bada Bing Bada Boom Battle Royal to determine the No.1 contenders for the NXT Tag Team Titles. Chase University won the match. Andre Chase & Duke Hudson will face Tony D’Angelo & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo for the titles on night one of Halloween Havoc.
Carmelo Hayes, Baron Corbin, and Dijak had a segment in the ring. Ilja Dragunov appeared on the big screen and announced that Trick Williams has been added to the NXT Championship No. 1 contender’s match. Williams then came to the ring. Hayes and Williams got into a brawl with Corbin and Dijak. Babyfaces got the upper hand.
Karmen Petrovic defeated Jaida Parker in the first round of the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament.
Lyra Valkyria defeated Tegan Nox. After the match, Nox and Natalya got into a brawl with Chelsea Green and Piper Niven. Valkyria grabbed a mic and said that she would beat Becky Lynch to win the NXT Women’s Championship. The Man appeared on the big screen and congratulated her.
Shotzi defeated Kiana James.
Trick Williams was attacked backstage. Williams was then removed from the No. 1 contender’s match.
Arianna Grace defeated Brinley Reese in the first round of the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament.
In the main event, Carmelo Hayes defeated Baron Corbin and Dijak to become the No. 1 contender for the NXT Championship.
According to Nielsen via SportsTVRatings, the October 17th episode of WWE NXT drew 798,000 viewers on USA Network and a 0.23 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
