This past Tuesday’s NXT was taped last week due to Independence Day. The show kicked off with the match between Roxanne Perez and Blair Davenport. In the closing moment of the match, Davenport hit two knee strikes on Perez to get the pinfall victory.
WWE aired a video package of Baron Corbin, where he said that he has everything but doesn’t have a reputation. Corbin then burned all the previous attires and said that he doesn’t want to portray any gimmicks in the future.
Mustafa Ali defeated Tyler Bate after hitting a 450 Splash. Following the match, Ali challenged Wes Lee for the NXT North American Championship at Great American Bash.
Eddie Thorpe defeated Damon Kemp in an NXT Underground match via referee stoppage. Following the match, Gable Steveson hit Suplexes on several NXT stars who came to the ring to attack him.
Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams invited all the Judgement Day members to appear on NXT next week. Finn Balor accepted the invitation.
The Dyad defeated The Creed Brothers in a Loser Leaves Tag Team match.
In the final segment of NXT, Bron Breakker said that he was inched close to winning the World Heavyweight Championship. Ilja Dragunov interrupted Breakker. The two then got into a brawl.
According to Nielsen via Wrestlenomics, the July 4th episode of WWE NXT drew 508,000 viewers on USA Network and a 0.13 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
The previous episode (June 27) drew 622,000 viewers on USA Network a 0.17 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
