WWE Hall Of Famer Named CM Punk One Of The Most Financially Successful Acquisitions In Pro Wrestling History

WWE Hall Of Famer Named CM Punk One Of The Most Financially Successful Acquisitions In Pro Wrestling History

CM Punk is one of the most controversial and polarizing figures in the pro wrestling world. Last month, Punk came back to WWE at Survivor Series after nine years.

The former WWE Champion has helped the company in many ways since returning to the company. CM Punk is currently the best merchandise seller in WWE. His segment with Seth Rollins this past Monday drew 1.9 million viewers.

The 45-year-old also paved the way for WWE to negotiate with WBD over a potential television deal for WWE RAW. According to reports, WBD and various other buyers have been interested in securing media rights for RAW after Punk’s comeback.

On the 83 Weeks podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff named CM Punk as one of the most financially successful acquisitions in the world of pro wrestling.

“And by the way, I’m going to go on the record right now. The acquisition of CM Punk to WWE might have been one of the most financially successful acquisitions in the history of pro wrestling.”

This is surprising because Bischoff completely refused to acknowledge Punk as a draw prior to Survivor Series.
