AEW Dynamite Grand Slam took place at the Arthur Ashe stadium in Queens, New York City. Toni Storm defended her interim AEW Women’s World Championship against Britt Baker, Athena and Serena Deeb in a fatal four-way match. Storm was able to retain her title.
However, after the match Baker, Deeb and Hayter attacked Storm and Athena. Saraya also known as Paige then made her shocking AEW debut and saved Storm and Athena from the beatdown.

AEW President Tony Khan then issued the following tweet and welcomed Saraya to the AEW roster.

Paige’s WWE contract expired on July 7th. The inaugural NXT Women’s Champion suffered a severe neck injury at WWE live event on December 2017 caused her to retire from the in-ring competition. Previously she stated in a Twitch stream her neck is fine and she could wrestle again.
