This past Saturday, the reigning WBC Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury faced the former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou in a ten-round boxing fight at Kingdom Arena, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Eminem, Conor McGregor, Cristiano Ronaldo, and many other celebrities attended the event. Vince McMahon and Undertaker also attended the event, representing WWE. The Gypsy King won the fight via split decision.
USA Today interviewed Vince McMahon hours before the event. McMahon was asked “Is this place the future of sports and entertainment?” he simply said yes.
The Executive Chairman of TKO was then asked, “What are they doing so well, in your mind?” McMahon responded,
“They’re delving into the superior aspects of all of sports entertainment. There is nothing going to bring. Everything that is the best in the world, it’s going to be here.”
Vince McMahon was also asked if he is expecting to hold more events in the Kingdom going forward. McMahon said that Saudi Arabia is the home of WWE.
“Well…This is our home now. This, as been pronounced, this our home, WWE’s home.”
