Three decades ago, Rita Chatterton the first female referee who worked in World Wrestling Entertainment publicly said that Vince McMahon sexually assaulted her in a limousine. However, McMahon denied the allegation.

Last November, Chatterton sent a letter to McMahon’s lawyer and demanded $11.75 million in damages for the alleged rape.

Wall Street Journal has reported that Vince McMahon settled the case with Rita Chatterton last month. Chatterton agreed to a lesser amount than initially demanded.

“Ms. Chatterton agreed to a lesser amount in the millions of dollars, one of the people familiar with the matter said”

Vince McMahon’s lawyer Jerry McDevitt said that McMahon still denied the allegation.

“Mr. McMahon denies and always has denied raping Ms. Chatterton. And he settled the case solely to avoid the cost of litigation,”

We will update you when we receive more details. Stay tuned with The Spotlight.
