WrestleMania 39 is set to take place on April 1st and 2nd from the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California next year. Steve Austin, John Cena, and Logan Paul are rumored to compete at the event.
In the past few years, WWE has planned to take place a match between Roman Reigns and The Rock at WrestleMania. The match was originally scheduled for WrestleMania 38 in Dallas, Texas but The Rock postponed the match due to his busy schedule.
Recently, there was a rumor circulated that The Rock would be returning at Royal Rumble to start the storyline with Tribal Chief.
Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided more details regarding The Rock’s return at Royal Rumble.
“The idea was being talked about behind-the-scenes, but as best we can tell, while rumors certainly exist within the company, as far as those who would be in a position to know, there is no real answer. If Johnson wants to do it and can be sold on the idea, it would be the most perfect scenario for the company.”
Wrestling Observer Newsletter also noted that If The Rock wants to compete at WrestleMania then he must inform the company by mid-January. Although, the backstage officials believe Rock will compete at the show of shows.
“Originally, the belief was that if his schedule allowed for it, Johnson would do likely his last match at Mania with Reigns, who is a family member. This has been talked about for years, and Johnson wanted it in Los Angeles if he could do it.”
