Last night on SmackDown, Carmelo Hayes and A Town Down Under had a backstage segment with Nick Aldis. The SmackDown General Manager booked Hayes vs. Theory for the show after they exchanged a few words.
During the match, Austin Theory performed a Spanish Fly. Theory and Hayes’ heads hit the mat when they fell. The referee stopped the match. The ringside doctor then checked both men.
Later, WWE provided an update on Austin Theory and Carmelo Hayes. The company announced on X that both men suffered face contusions.
“UPDATE: Following their match tonight on #SmackDown, @_Theory1 and @Carmelo_WWE were evaluated for injuries. They both suffered face contusions, and will both be okay.”
