Three years ago, AEW announced its first video game at AEW Games 1.0 Special Event. The game is developed by Yuke’s and published by THQ Nordic. Last year, AEW President Tony Khan revealed the name of the video game would be “AEW Fight Forever.”
However, AEW and GCW are now going through a legal battle for the name. GCW claimed that they trademarked the name “Fight Forever” on July 21st, 2022 under Entertainment Services. You can read more details by clicking here.
Meanwhile, AEW was able to clear the biggest obstacle that the video game faced. AEW obtained the “T” rating from the ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) in February.
Recently, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reported that the AEW Fight Forever is ready, and the release date is up to THQ Nordic.
In a response to Meltzer’s report, the Global Senior Community Manager of THQ Nordic, Zyddie stated that the game is 100% not finished yet.
“I mean if you want an unfinished game sure we could release now 😆
The game is doing really well and is getting there, but not 100% yet, so yea just another rumour on twitter I fear 😔”
