On Monday, UFC released several fighters, including No. 10 ranked flyweight contender Matheus Nicolau (19-6-1).
Matheus Nicolau last competed on October 19 at UFC Fight Night, losing to Asu Almabayev via unanimous decision. Nicolau made his UFC debut in 2015 and has competed 12 times in the promotion. He has a record of 7-5 in UFC and is on a three-fight losing streak.
The company also removed Robelis Despaigne (5-2), Jessica Penne (14-9), Tamires Vidal (7-4), Vinicius Salvador (14-7), Charalampos Grigoriou (8-5), and Jesse Butler (12-6) from the roster.
