Last July, Triple H was appointed as Head of Talent Relations and Head of WWE Creative after Vince McMahon retired from the company. Triple H was then elevated to the Chief Content Officer of WWE.
Earlier this year, Vince McMahon changed his mind and came back to the company. McMahon was elected as the Executive Chairman of WWE.
This past Monday, McMahon sold World Wrestling Entertainment to Endeavor Group Holdings Inc. Endeavor is set to form a new entity with WWE and UFC. McMahon and WWE shareholders will own 49% of the new company while the other 51% owned by Endeavor.
The 77-year-old was heavily involved in this past Monday Night RAW which frustrated the fans and wrestlers. Many fans questioned Triple H’s status with the company following McMahon’s aggressive comeback to the creative team.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reported that Triple H was unofficially demoted by Vince McMahon.
“Triple H has gone from being ‘the guy’ to being basically what Paul Heyman was and what Bruce Prichard was before. Where they’re ‘in charge’, but everything gets overruled.”
Meltzer also noted that Vince McMahon could be in the gorilla position on the upcoming SmackDown. Meanwhile, WWE announced that Triple H is scheduled to appear on this Friday’s SmackDown.
