In the past several years, there were a lot of WWE legends who came out of retirement to wrestle a few more matches. However, nobody expected WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin would be returned to the squared circle after losing to The Rock at WrestleMania 19.
Earlier this year, Steve Austin made his in-ring return at Night one of WrestleMania 38, where Austin defeated Kevin Owens in a No Hold Barred Match. A day later, he also appeared on Night two of WrestleMania 38 and hit stunners on Austin Theory, Vince McMahon and Pat McAfee.
Recently, there was a rumor circulated that Steve Austin is willing to compete in another match. This week, Austin posted a few workout videos to Instagram and indicated that he is ready for one more match.
Fightful Select has reported that WWE wanted to do more with Steve Austin. Vince McMahon’s regime hoped that Austin will give his expression for one more match. However, Fightful added that Triple H’s regime already offered The Texas Rattlesnake another match.
“We’re told WWE at least wants him to do more with the company. Specifically, we’re told that while the Vince McMahon regime had hoped to have Austin come back to do another match, that the Triple H regime had actually made an offer for Austin to do another match.
The sources that we spoke to weren’t sure if that meant for a Saudi Arabia match, WrestleMania, or anything else, but that there was an offer. Those sources presumed it was for WrestleMania in LA, but wouldn’t confirm that or a potential opponent. Another source indicated that initially, Austin and WWE were far apart on terms.”
