Austin Theory was drafted to Monday Night RAW as part of the 2021 WWE draft. Theory arrived on the red brand on the October 4th episode of WWE RAW.
The 25-year-old star was involved in a storyline along with Vince McMahon as McMahon’s protégé in November of 2021. Austin Theory competed at WrestleMania 38 against Pat McAfee. He then became the United States Champion and won the Money in the Bank contract in last year. Those things were received under Vince McMahon’s guidance.
Last July, McMahon had to step down from his WWE duties and Triple H became the Head of Creative. Many fans thought that would be the start of the downfall of Theory’s career. But Triple H also put Theory into the right position in WWE.
During an interview with ESPN, Triple H gave his honest opinion about the current United States Champion Austin Theory. He said that Theory has all the tools to be the top guy in the company.
“It’s a nuanced feeling… once you see this guy’s a great athlete, I’m looking for their personality, their charisma. Austin Theory has it, and then some. Do I think he has all the potential to be one of the biggest stars in the business? Absolutely. What determines that? A lot of that is up to him now. You give him little bits of things here and there and he’s improving his game and he’s smart. He listens to the crowd, he listens to the people. He sees all the stuff that’s going on, and he adapts his game on a regular basis.”
This past Monday on RAW, Austin Theory faced Bobby Lashley for United States Championship in the main event. Theory was able to retain the title with help from Brock Lesnar.
