In an interview with Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post, AEW President Tony Khan clarified Ric Flair’s deal. Khan stated that they don’t pay Flair to appear on the shows, but they are getting paid by Flair’s energy drink company for promoting the brand. Khan added that Wooooo! Energy is paying AEW for Flair’s appearances as well.
“We’re not paying Ric Flair; Ric Flair is essentially paying us, We’re getting paid by Wooooo Energy for all of his appearances, so we’re collecting revenue from them.”
