AEW announced that they have terminated CM Punk’s contract with All Elite Wrestling after investigating the backstage incident at All In. CM Punk and Jack Perry had a backstage altercation regarding a comment that Perry made during the Zero Hour of All In.
Last night’s AEW Collision took place at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. Before the broadcast, Tony Khan appeared on the stage to address fans about Punk’s firing. However, Khan received a huge negative reaction from the Chicago crowd.
PWInsider reported that people backstage at AEW Collision had mixed reactions to Punk’s release. Fightful Select noted that security had confiscated CM Punk signs before the broadcast began.
