Last Saturday on AEW Collision, Hook challenged Samoa Joe to a match for the AEW World Championship in a pre-recorded segment. However, some fans criticized Khan for booking Hook as Joe’s first opponent for the title.
This past Monday on WWE RAW, Seth Rollins and Jinder Mahal exchanged a few words which escalated into a brawl. Later, the company announced that Rollins would defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Jinder Mahal next week on WWE RAW. However, many fans didn’t question about Jinder getting a championship opportunity this quickly.
On X, AEW President Tony Khan issued a statement about fans’ double standard.
“A double standard:
@730hook 28-1 career record, on winning streak calls out the Champ, a logical challenge sparks online outrage
Jinder has literally lost every single match he’s in for the past year, immediately gets title shot, where is the rage
#AEWDynamite TOMORROW on TBS”

During the AEW Worlds End media call, Tony Khan said that AEW and ROH are doing well according to Cagematch (Internet Wrestling Database).
A fan posted a photo of Seth Rollins and Jinder Mahal’s segment and stated that both men have a history. The official X account of the USA Network replied, “What was the cagematch rating?”
Tony Khan responded to the USA Network as follows:
“A moral victory for USA is one win more than their World Title challenger Jinder Mahal has in the past 364 days… because it’s been literally a full year since he won a match.
Tony Khan
You really put AEW in our place getting Jinder Mahal in a big match on your tv show. Do it more often”
