The corporate sides of WWE, Stardom, and TNA have changed in the past couple of weeks. Vince McMahon, who held the position of Executive Chairman and Board of Directors of TKO, was forced to resign due to Janel Grant’s lawsuit.
On February 4th, Bushiroad fired Stardom Co-Founder and Executive Producer Rossy Ogawa. The company claimed Ogawa poached Stardom’s talent and employees. He is set to start a new promotion soon.
Last Thursday, TNA President Scott D’Amore was fired from Anthem Sports and Entertainment. D’Amore reportedly made an offer for Anthem to buy TNA before firing. The company rejected his offer.
In an interview with Sports Grid, AEW President Tony Khan was asked about his thoughts on the changes in pro wrestling companies.
“It’s a really exciting time for AEW right now. The company is doing some of our best wrestling ever. Right now, is the best AEW has been. It’s an exciting time for the wrestling business. There are a lot of crazy things happening. It’s a really important time in wrestling for a variety of reasons. Somethings outside of wrestling that are bigger than wrestling. For us, we’re doing the best wrestling we’ve done in AEW right now.”
