Last month, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made his return to WWE RAW and confronted Jinder Mahal. He was then appointed to the board of directors of TKO Group on January 23rd.
This past Friday, the 51-year-old interfered in Cody Rhodes’ two-year storyline by adding himself to the WrestleMania 40 main event against Roman Reigns. Fans aren’t thrilled about Rock’s decision. They have expressed their displeasure on social media. The hashtag “WeWantCody” was trending No. 1 on X in the United States for three days. Fans who attended last night’s RAW heavily booed The Rock’s promotional graphics, and they also chanted “Rocky Sucks” during the show.
PWInsider reported that The Rock is 100% competing at this year’s WrestleMania. This was one of Rock’s conditions for joining TKO Group’s board of directors. They added that the decision won’t be changed unless something unforeseen happens.
“The Rock is 100% performing in the ring at Wrestlemania 40. That is a done deal and as we noted on Saturday, likely something that was contractually locked in as one of the milestones Rock would be involved in as part of his TKO Board of Directors deal. We were told there is “no scenario” where Rock is not wrestling Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 40, unless something unforeseen happens, like an injury.”
