This past Friday, The Rock appeared on SmackDown to confront Roman Reigns. The bout will be officially announced for WrestleMania 40 on Thursday at a press event.
Cody Rhodes, who was supposed to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title, now has to face Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Title because of The Rock. Therefore, the fans have expressed their displeasure on social media. The Rock and Roman Reigns’ segment has more than 400,000 dislikes on YouTube in under 20 hours, while “#WeWantCody” has become the No. 1 trend on X in the United States as of this morning.
On X, The Rock issued the following statement despite fan backlash:
