The 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble winner, Cody Rhodes, appeared on last night’s SmackDown to announce his decision. Cody said that he still wants to take the title away from Roman Reigns. However, The American Nightmare said that he wouldn’t face Reigns at WrestleMania.
Cody Rhodes introduced The Rock as Roman Reigns’ challenger. The Rock hugged Cody and whispered something. Cody then left the ring while Rock and Roman had a stare-down. The live broadcast ended with Rock and Roman’s face-off.
The People’s Champ addressed the fans after SmackDown went off the air.
“It’s become very clear and evident to The Rock that when you want to create something iconic and when you want to create something magical, you come to the Magic City. This is a city deep in history, and ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, I’m happy to tell you that tonight, all of us, tonight we made history here in Birmingham, Alabama. Birmingham, I thank you. I love you.”
WWE is scheduled to hold a press event on February 8th to officially announce The Rock vs. Roman Reigns match.
